National Hive Varroa Floor with Landing Board and Tray Insert
Made of top-quality polystyrene, it combines lightness, durability, and resistance to weather conditions. The material provides excellent thermal insulation, while its exceptionally low weight makes transport easy. The design allows multiple hive floors to be stacked in columns, saving significant storage space. Every exposed surface that could be gnawed or sealed with propolis is protected with a thick layer of synthetic foil.
The entrance hole is located at the front of the floor. Its dimensions ensure an optimal entry size for the bees. Thanks to side cut-outs, it is possible to mount appropriate entrance reducers or transport screens.
The bottom and top edges of the floor are reinforced with plastic inserts, which prevent excessive wear and ensure a perfect fit with the hive body above. All sharp edges are rounded, eliminating any risk of cuts or injury.
The bottom panel of the floor contains a secured ventilation mesh opening and a drawer for varroa mites inspections.
The mesh screen allows proper airflow while keeping insects and pests out.
The drawer is easily accessible from the back of the hive.
A key advantage of this design is that the ventilation opening can be accessed without dismantling the hive — simply release the two safety latches at the back of the hive and remove the drawer.
The lower frame features a groove for a transport strap, making it quick and effortless to secure the hive for transport.
The interior floor is sloped toward the back of the hive, ensuring that any moisture inside the hive naturally drains out without beekeeper intervention.
The side walls include grip indentations that serve as handles. Their ergonomic shape provides a strong, secure grip, allowing you to lift the entire hive or several stacked components. The lower part of each handle is sloped outward to prevent water from collecting inside.
The underside of the hive floor features four plastic-reinforced stabilizing feet, allowing the hive to be placed securely on almost any standard base while maintaining proper insulation from the ground.
The mesh tray insert which is above the drawer can be removed and replaced with our Pollen Trap.
Each hive body is made from high-density expanded polystyrene (160 kg/m³)
